Midnight Tour: Sacred Night 3: Flames of Youth

Embark on a time-traveling journey where participants immerse themselves in the role of political prisoners, experiencing the suffocating darkness within prison cells and the underground sewer tunnels, along with the hardships and dangers of escaping.

The Management Board of the Hoa Lo Prison Historical Site introduces the experiential program “Sacred Night 3: Flames of Youth,” which sees a significant turnout of managers, cultural researchers, travel companies, and visitors. Through its meaning, value, and artistic expression, the program profoundly moves its participants.

Visitors will assume the roles of political prisoners to experience the suffocating darkness within prison cells and cramped confines during the tour.

“Sacred Night 3: Flames of Youth” boasts captivating content with numerous scenes that vividly recreate the harsh life within Hoa Lo Prison.

Notable scenes include the dignified acceptance of death by Comrade Nguyen Hoang Ton, beheaded by a guillotine at the main gate of Hoa Lo Prison in 1931; the struggle for a hunger strike in 1933; the final meeting between Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh and his mother; the transformation of the prison into a revolutionary school; the 1945 escape.

These scenes are meticulously staged, highlighting the resilient spirits of exceptional individuals who, despite starvation, brutal torture, and even facing death, remained optimistic and resolute until the very end. Particularly moving is the scene of the last meeting between Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh and his mother, which evokes strong emotions and brings tears to many viewers.

Participating in this time-traveling journey, visitors assume the role of political prisoners, allowing them to experience the suffocating darkness within prison cells and the underground sewer tunnels, as well as the hardships and dangers of escape. Through this, they vividly perceive the spirit that rises above adversity, the flames of enduring struggle within the harsh prison environment. The journey’s culmination is a tribute to the fallen heroes in the sacred space of the Memorial Monument. Visitors have moments of reflection on the journey undertaken, feeling the flames of their own youth burning brightly.

The experiential journey “Sacred Night 3: Flames of Youth” alternates with the program “Sacred Night 2: Living Like Flowers” on weekend nights. Additionally, organizations and groups can register to participate in this experience on every Wednesday evening.
