On the occasion of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival in 2023, the Management Board of Hoàn Kiếm Lake and Hanoi’s Old Quarter, in collaboration with artisans and craftsmen, will organize a series of exhibition and experiential activities at heritage sites in Hanoi’s Old Quarter and the mural space of Phùng Hưng Street. Highlighting this series of activities is the Mid-Autumn Festival Night in the Old Quarter, which will take place on the night of September 29th in front of Đồng Xuân Market.
The program includes a Mid-Autumn Feast competition, a traditional Mid-Autumn Lantern Parade with the theme “Mid-Autumn Harmony,” and children’s mooncake-making contests from 18 districts. There will also be traditional folk games, cultural and artistic activities, and circus performances.
Surrounding these activities, there will be a diverse range of experiential activities such as exhibitions, image material presentations, traditional toy-making, music programs, and puppetry shows held from September 22nd to September 29th at heritage sites in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
Through this series of activities, the organizers hope to contribute to the preservation and promotion of the national cultural heritage and historical values of the Old Quarter of Hanoi, as well as to cultivate a generation of citizens who understand and appreciate cultural heritage.
