“Influenza” will be the next film project in the acting career of Blackpink’s eldest sister since the announcement of not renewing the solo contract with YG.
Recently, Blackpink fans have been thrilled as images of Jisoo on the set of “Influenza” suddenly circulated on social media. According to fan posts, the idol is filming the initial scenes in a neighborhood in Seoul.
This is particularly special as it marks Jisoo’s first personal film project since deciding not to renew her solo contract with her former management company, YG Entertainment. According to various sources, she is set to join her brother’s entertainment company, taking control of her career development plans.

Previously, during an appearance at the airport at the end of last year, Jisoo informed fans about her new role in a zombie-themed TV series. She tactfully revealed that this project would involve a lot of action scenes, increasing the anticipation among fans.
“Influenza” is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by author Hang Sung Woon, with the screenplay written by Han Jin Won, an Oscar-winning writer for “Parasite.” The storyline revolves around the battle against the undead attacking Seoul.
Actor Park Jung Min plays Jae Yoon, a young man who decides to enlist at the age of 26 with the hope of becoming a professional soldier. Concerned about his future, he becomes insecure and decides to break up with his girlfriend Yeong Ju, played by Jisoo.
Jisoo’s character is described as a young girl with little combat experience, going through a difficult time after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend, Jae Yoon. However, she gradually becomes stronger to fight for survival.
“Influenza” seems to be a project that aligns well with the desires of Blackpink’s eldest sister.
In a recent interview, the Flower vocalist expressed her eagerness to try a genuine action project, promising an impressive comeback on the small screen.
Before this, Jisoo made her acting debut in the TV series “Snowdrop,” alongside actor Jung Hae In, receiving positive feedback. Despite initial controversies surrounding the show, it eventually achieved good viewership ratings. Transitioning from an idol to an actress, Jisoo had a relatively smooth start in her lead role.
