The fashion industry trade magazine recently unveiled its list of “50 Power Women of 2023,” which features a wide range of women, from CEOs of major corporations to influential figures shaping the fashion culture in 2023.
In the list released by WWD, BLACKPINK’s Jennie joins names such as Serena Williams, Elena Velez, Donatella Versace, Lucia Silvestri, Rihanna, Shonda Rhimes, Jenna Ortega, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
WWD acknowledges Jennie’s impact on fashion as Chanel’s muse and a Calvin Klein model. The magazine also notes her significant influence through events such as her debut at the Met Gala and the Cannes red carpet for the premiere of HBO’s “The Idol.”
Jennie stated, “What I do back home is not just focusing on one particular thing. We all aim to create an image that goes well with the song and the clothes I wear, so everything has an effect on me.”
Recently, alongside her flourishing career, Jennie has been drawing attention to her private love life. Images suggesting a romantic connection between her and V, a member of BTS, have been circulating in the media. While the “evidence” seems to support the rumors, both individuals and their respective agencies have yet to confirm the speculation.
In contrast to her successful singing career, Jennie’s foray into acting seems less fortunate. The HBO-produced series “The Idol,” in which Jennie participated, has officially been confirmed not to continue for a second season following criticism and lackluster reception after the first season’s release.
Jennie from the highly acclaimed South Korean K-pop group BLACKPINK has been included in Women’s Wear Daily’s “50 Power Women of 2023” list.
