In order to develop diverse and distinctive nighttime tourism products, as well as to offer creative cultural spaces for the residents of the capital city and tourists, Hanoi has announced 15 nighttime tourism products.
1/ “Northern Essence” Live Show
The “Northern Essence” live show takes place every weekend at the Tuần Châu Eco-tourism Area (Sài Sơn, Quốc Oai). The stage, covering an area of 19,000m2, includes a water area of nearly 4,300m2. To create a stunning effect, in addition to the natural beauty, the stage utilizes various stage construction techniques and modern sound and lighting systems, including laser interplay and 3D mapping.
2/ Night Tour of Hoa Lo Prison
The night tour of Hoa Lo Prison offers three different themes, contributing to the diversity of Hanoi’s nighttime tourism products and enhancing understanding of the revolutionary spirit.
3/ Pedestrian Spaces
Pedestrian spaces include the Old Quarter pedestrian area, the Hoan Kiem Lake and vicinity pedestrian area, Trinh Cong Son Cultural Pedestrian Street in Tay Ho District, Son Tay Ancient Town Pedestrian Street in Son Tay town, the culinary and walking street of Ngoc Island – Ngu Xa in Ba Dinh District, and the pedestrian space of Tran Nhan Tong and surrounding areas in Hai Ba Trung District. Since 2016, the opening of the pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake has provided an opportunity for people and tourists to enjoy nighttime entertainment, making it a brand of Hanoi.
4/ Water Puppetry at Thang Long
Thang Long Water Puppetry in Hang Trong (Hoan Kiem District) has also been included in Hanoi’s nighttime tourism products.
5/ “Decoding the Imperial Citadel” Night Tour at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel
In April 2021, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel successfully launched the “Decoding the Thang Long Imperial Citadel” night tour. The 120-minute program takes visitors to the sparkling night space of the UNESCO-recognized World Cultural Heritage site, allowing them to discover unique cultural values such as lifestyle, cuisine, activities of the imperial court, and unique architectural structures.
6/ “Heart and Talent” Night Tour at the Vietnam Museum of Literature
Participating in these tours, visitors not only learn many special stories at each destination in the traditional guided way but also gain new and practical experiences through various forms of access, including stage performances and culinary experiences. Another product included in the top 15 is the “Heart and Talent” night tour at the Vietnam Museum of Literature. This product not only creates a cultural space for Hanoi residents but also aims to become an attractive tourist destination for literature lovers and tourists both domestically and internationally.
7/ Tong Duy Tan – Ta Hien – Dong Xuan Night Market Food Tour (Hoan Kiem District)
This food tour attracts many tourists when they come to Hanoi.
8/ City Tour Double-decker Bus at Night
In addition to daytime service, the double-decker City Tour bus at night also attracts a large number of tourists to the capital. Furthermore, the Dong Xuan electric bus route (Hoan Kiem District) has been built and has had positive effects since its operation.
9/ Cyclo Tours
Choosing a cyclo for sightseeing and learning about Hanoi is attractive to foreign tourists. In the minds of Hanoi people, and Vietnam in general, the image of a cyclo, representing the cultural charm of tourism, running smoothly on the streets has become a habit and a beauty. Along the journey to explore the capital at night, the flag-lowering ceremony at 9 p.m. at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum should not be missed.
10/ Hanoi Book Street
After 6 years of operation and upgrading some items, from the beginning of 2023 to now, Hanoi Book Street has had many attractive cultural development activities. Additionally, the Legendary Youth – Living a Worthwhile Life art program at the Vietnam Women’s Museum has also been included as a diverse nighttime tourism product with many colors.
11/ Bicycle Tour: “Thang Long – New Hanoi at Night”
Recently opened, this tour allows tourists to explore the nighttime landscape of the capital and learn about the culture through famous landmarks, museums, and historical relics to better understand the ups and downs of Thang Long – Hanoi’s history. Photo: National Museum of History.
12/ Night Experience Tour at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam with the theme “Essence of Confucianism”
On October 29, the Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam Cultural Center (Dong Da District, Hanoi) introduced the “Essence of Confucianism” night experience program.
Through the launch event of Hanoi’s nighttime tourism products, the Department of Tourism aims to leverage the advantages of nighttime services in the Hoan Kiem District, specifically, and the capital city of Hanoi in general. The goal is to develop diverse and distinctive nighttime tourism products, providing the residents of the capital and visitors with creative cultural spaces. The focus is on delivering high-quality, value-added tourism products that contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the city.
