BlackPink is currently the most famous K-pop girl group in the world. Every time they appear in front of the public, they easily become the center of attention with their outstanding appearance, impressive fashion style, and unique and charismatic images. However, stepping off the stage, they are also ordinary twenty-something girls carrying mundane fears.
During a guest appearance on Lee Hong Ki’s radio show Kiss The Radio, Jisoo and Jennie were asked, “What is Rosé most afraid of?” The eldest sister of BlackPink initially thought the answer would be ghosts, but the correct response turned out to be needles.
Rosé confirmed this information. According to the beauty born in 1997, she reacts severely to injections, to the point where doctors often question her age because her behavior is too similar to that of a child.
Meanwhile, Jisoo is afraid of heights. While filming for BlackPink House in Thailand, the group played a rope swinging game. Unlike the other three members who appeared excited, the Flower vocalist revealed a fearful expression. Throughout the challenge, Jisoo repeatedly exclaimed, “terrifying,” and her anxiety increased as she watched Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa go first. In the end, she overcame her fear and completed the game.
Jisoo also has another less common fear. When she was young, she was bitten by a hamster, and since then, she has been afraid of furry animals.
Jennie is afraid of insects, especially butterflies. On the Running Man show, the rapper born in 1996 once startled other guests by screaming and running away when insects flew around her. During a tour in Hanoi in July 2023, Jennie was also captured on camera almost crying due to an insect attack.
She is also afraid of hedgehogs. During a photoshoot with Soobin’s (TXT) pet, Jennie’s panicked expression when the hedgehog’s quills touched her mouth became a viral sensation on social media.
Lisa is also afraid of needles like Rosé, but not as seriously as her same-aged friend. What scares her the most is ghosts. In an exclusive interview in Thailand with Woody, Lisa emphasized that it’s not just fear but reaches the level of being haunted. To cope with this situation, the youngest member of BlackPink had to come up with various methods to sleep well at night. First, she always keeps her pet cats by her side while sleeping. Another method is to keep the bathroom light on. In cases where she must turn off the lights, she resorts to listening to music.
“I need to keep the bathroom light on. I really can’t sleep when the lights are off. If the lights are off, I will play some music; otherwise, I’ll stay awake,” Lisa shared.
